Metrobots is a FIRST Robotics Competition, or FRC, team based from The Past Foundation in Columbus, Ohio.
Over the years, the team has been Regional Winners, Regional Chairman’s Award winners, and Engineering Inspiration Award winners at the regional and world championship levels. Because of these awards, the Metrobots have attended multiple FIRST World Championships, each season from 2015-2018.
We hold community outreach events- for instance, we support other FIRST (FLL, FTC, FRC) teams, and conduct engineering workshops throughout Ohio. Metrobots recently helped start an FLL (First Lego League) team at Metro Elementary, where numerous members of the team have been volunteering!
Metrobots is student-led. We aim to encourage leadership and interpersonal skills for the students alongside technical and business skills.
The team is split into BAM (Business, Administration, and Marketing) and Engineering. Engineering breaks down into Mechanical, Programming, and Electrical, for a total of four subgroups.
On average, a full team of Metrobots generally consists of about 70 members.
They are split approximately as followes: BAM- 20. Mechanical- 30. Electrical-15. Proramming- 5
